Former Ennis Police Chief Andrew Harvey, Jr. was named to the same position on Monday, July 13, at a special meeting of the Pharr, Texas city commission. Harvey, who held the top cop gig in Ennis for just five months, served his final day at Ennis on Friday, July 10.
Pharr, with a population of 79,112, is connected to the Mexican city of Reynosa, Tamaulipas as an international port entry. The sugarcane growing community is in the Rio Grande Valley adjacent to McAllen–Edinburg–Mission metropolitan areas.
