Grand Jury tackles police leadership concerns

Investigations by the Ellis County grand jury as well as another by an independent team of special prosecutors from Fort Worth were part of the impetus that led the Ennis chief of police to retire and the city manager to resign on Nov. 5.

Their findings were presented to Mayor Angie Juenemann as well as key city leadership, who in turn informed then-City Manager Scott Dixon and then-Chief of Police John Erisman.
