A wide band across the Metroplex, from Fort Worth to Dallas, will experience a rarity on Monday, April 8, a total solar eclipse beginning just after 12 noon. Much of the state will have a chance to view a partial eclipse, though weather could limit visibility. Meteorologists have confirmed the D-FW area will have the biggest metropolitan area for seeing the path of totality. Even with overcast conditions as a possibility, when the moon passes in front of the sun, a total solar eclipse, which begins around 1:40 p.m. and extends for approximately 4:23 of complete darkness.
