Early to mid-spring semester, January through March, is when schools often make many football head coaching changes. This year is no exception. Since spring camp comes in April or May, roughly 3+ weeks of practice, usually ending in an intrasquad scrimmage, coaches prefer being on-site and preparing for the fall by camp.
One of the biggest local moves occurred this month when Chris Ross resigned after two excellent seasons at Red Oak to pursue the vacancy at Lucas Lovejoy. His Hawks went 9-2 in 2018 and 11-2 last fall.
