Missing Person’s Vehicle Recovered

On January 6, 2019 The family of Emily Wade made a missing person’s report to the Ennis Police Department. During the investigation information was developed that indicated Wade had accidentally driven into Chamber’s Creek just inside Navarro County. Investigators from the Ennis Police Department, Ellis County Sheriff’s Dept., Texas Rangers, Navarro County Sheriff’s Dept., Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Texas Dept of Public Safety Dive Team and the Texas Dept. of Public Safety Aircraft Section participated in the search for Wade. A number of private organizations and volunteers also searched for Wade.

On January 21, 2019 Wade was located deceased in Chamber’s Creek in Navarro County.

An autopsy done by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office indicated that Wade died from hypothermia and possible drowning.

On March 6, 2021 a group of volunteers were able to locate the 2012 Nissan Altima that Wade was last seen driving. The vehicle was found submerged in Chamber’s Creek. The car was positively identified as the vehicle that Emily Wade was driving. Due to conditions in the creek that will require specialized equipment the vehicle will have to be removed at a later date.

The Ennis Police Department would like to thank all of the volunteers and agencies that assisted in helping to bring closure to the Wade family.
