Ennis police were called to the Ennis Walmart after 2 a.m. on Aug. 11 to an attempted theft of beer by five individuals. Thwarted by the state law prohibiting the sale of alcohol after 2 a.m., the group got creative in a bid to circumvent their rejected purchase.
