William Larry Pruitt
William Larry Pruitt of Hillsboro died Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the age of 80.
Larry was born November 10, 1940 in Alsdorf, Texas to Larry Buster and Mary Magnolia (Allen) Pruitt. Larry was married to Patricia Ann Hunsucker and they were blessed with four children Robbie, Susan, Rowdy and Sandi. Later in life he married Melinda Hassell and they had a son Jeremy. In 1982, Larry married Deborah Shirl Denton Hussey Pruitt, his love for 38 years. With this union Deborah added her two boys, Jason and John Hussey making Larry the proud father of seven children.
Larry loved his family and looked forward to family gatherings, playing golf with buddies, and simply joking around with anyone who would listen. Larry was a man who was known by many names such as LP and even ‘The Hammer.’ But his two most important names, the ones he took the most pride in, were the names Dad and Pop.
Larry started working for the Southern Pacific railroad at age 19 and retired after 36 years of service. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Hillsboro. Larry loved the Lord and he would look at the sunrises, clouds and sunsets and he would say, “The Man does good work!”
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers George, Buster and Donnie; sister Anne; daughter Sandi Michelle Pruitt Jones; and grandson Corey James Pruitt.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Pruitt. Also surviving are son Robbie Wayne Pruitt and wife Julie, and children Sumer Reid and husband Dustin and their two children Oaklyn Winter and Stone River Reid; Neeli Davis and husband Scott and their two children Sutton and Lawson Davis; Austin Baker; Cory James Pruitt’s daughter Kimber Pruitt Lochte.
Additionally, Larry is survived by daughter Susan Wynell Pruitt Heine and husband Jeff and their two girls: Courtney Locke and husband Josh and their children Hannah, Grant and Peighton Locke and Whitney Korensek and husband Josh and their two girls Harper and Harlie Korensek. Also surviving are son William Larry II (Rowdy) Pruitt and wife Cynthia (Sissy) and their daughter Shelby Jean. Survivors also include Zachary Jones and wife Valerie and their children Mia and Ace Jones, son Jeremy Kyle Pruitt and wife Haley Ann and their children Tyler Cole, Gracie Michelle, Eli Tucker, Jasper McCrae and our baby, Weston Call; Jason Denton Hussey and wife Kelly and their son David Jonathon; John Earl Hussey and wife Barbara and their daughter Carly Dale and son Cameron Job.
Lastly, Larry is survived by his faithful dog Bandit Pruitt.

Graveside service, under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home, is scheduled for Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Crisp Cemetery in Ellis County.
