Charlie Mae was born in Ennis, Texas, on August 10, 1927, to Claude and Elvira (Allen) James. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from Carver High School. On May 30, 1959, Charlie Mae married Arthur Lee Presley and they made
Charlie Mae was born in Ennis, Texas, on August 10, 1927, to Claude and Elvira (Allen) James. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from Carver High School. On May 30, 1959, Charlie Mae married Arthur Lee Presley and they made their home in Ennis.
Charlie Mae was an extraordinary person who found friends everywhere she went. She worked for several different places including the White Plaza Hotel, Ennis Business Forms, Overhead Door and probably her favorite job as a Greeter for Super WalMart. Charlie Mae was a member of Fourth Ward Missionary Baptist Church, Helping Hands, A-Cross and was a community wide volunteer. She had a great love for all of her family and friends.
Charlie Mae is survived by sons: Joe Presley and Harold Presley; two grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; brothers: Claude James, Jr. and Willie James as well as other loved family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur Presley, a brother, Edward James and a sister, Laura Jean Brown.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 21, 2021, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
A Celebration of her life was held on Friday, January 22, 2021, at 2 p.m., in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Interment will follow at a later date where she will be laid to rest at DFW National Cemetery with her beloved Arthur.
