Grace Jeanette Williams Brown Thompson
Grace Jeanette Williams Brown Thompson, 75, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2021, in Austin, TX. Although colon cancer overtook her physically at the end of her life, her spirit and smile were ever present until she went on to Heaven. Jeanette had a good life as evidenced from deep sorrow and pain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Jeanette was the oldest child of parents David H. Williams and Grace Pierce Williams, born on March 10, 1945, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Growing up with brother, John D. Williams, Jeanette graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport, Louisiana, in 1963. Her classmates remember her as beautiful, kind, smart and an excellent writer as demonstrated during her time as Editor of the Sequoyah, the school’s yearbook. Jeanette would go on to attend and graduate from East Texas Baptist College in Marshall, Texas, with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
During her time in college, Jeanette met and married Cliff Brown in June 1964 and with whom she had her two children, Clifton Brown and Brooke Brown Ruffin. After divorcing, Jeanette met Glenn Thompson while out dancing and he would continue to be her dance partner for the next 37 years.
Jeanette resided in Ennis, Texas, for the majority of her life enjoying many friends, attending Baylor Baptist Church, teaching swim lessons and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. Jeanette was a dedicated and much loved teacher and taught elementary school in Ennis ISD for her entire career. Jeanette was well known for her beautiful blue eyes, sincere smile and easy laugh. If a life can be measured by ripples in water by all her life touched – Jeanette made many ripples.
