Linda Jean Lee
Linda Jean Lee, 76, passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2021.
She was born on October 6, 1944, to Gene and Mattie Powell in Dallas, Texas. She married Leon Lee on June 20, 1970, and they made their home in Ennis. Linda cherished playing the piano and organ where she played as a member of Calvary Baptist Church at the time of her death.
Linda was a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, great aunt and a sincere friend to many. She strongly believed in the power of prayer and prayed daily for her family. She was a central figure in the lives of her children and grandchildren. In her loving, gracious way, she had a significant and positive influence on many people.
She graduated from WW Samuell High School in 1963. She received her Bachelors of Business Administration from Baylor University in 1969 and her Masters of Arts from Amberton University in 1997. After eight years of raising her boys, she returned to the workplace at Navarro College where she retired in 2014.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Powell; father, Gene Powell; brother, Ronnie Powell and grand-niece, Leah Bryn Powell. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Leon Lee; three sons: Ben and wife Melissa Lee, Chris Lee, Rusty and wife Katie Lee, and six grandchildren: Macey, Laker, Chloee, Chase, Colton and Zoee. She is also survived also by sister-n-law, Laurette Powell Rogillio; nephews: Ron and wife Andrea Powell, John and wife Laura Powell, and seven grand-nieces and nephews.
The circle of relatives and friends will have a Memorial at a later time. In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations can be given to Calvary Baptist Church, 805 W. Baldridge St.,Ennis, Texas 75119.
