AlaMae was a sweet, loveable, and kind person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. AlaMae grew up in Texas and later met Leslie “Les” W. Gibson in Dallas where they were eventually married on March 29, 1947. AlaMae and Les moved to a farm in west Texas where they raised their two children until moving to Portales, New Mexico. In Portales, they owned and ran Les’s Sweet Shop for 30 years, where they served breakfast and lunch to the loyal customers and friends. Known for their delectable donuts and delicious coffee, their shop became a beloved gathering place for the community. After their retirement, AlaMae and Les moved back to their roots to be near family. They settled in Ennis, Texas where they lived for the remainder of their lives.

AlaMae found joy in many hobbies throughout her life. She enjoyed reading, solving crossword puzzles and word games, and loved to quilt. She also cherished the hours spent on the phone with her sisters, telling stories and laughing. Later in life, her greatest joy came from spending time with her great-grandchildren, baking many batches of cookies and creating cherished memories with each visit.

AlaMae will be remembered for her devotion to family. She is survived by her daughter, Diann Pass, along with four grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leslie W. Gibson, her son, Roal Gibson, and her five sisters.

AlaMae found solace and strength in her faith, worshiping at Calvary Baptist Church in Ennis, Texas. Her commitment to her spiritual life was evident in the way she lived and loved others.

In accordance with her wishes, AlaMae will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held with her family. In lieu of contributions, the family asks that you please just keep AlaMae in your memory.
