Linda Marie Gray

Linda Marie Gray, 76, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023, in Corsicana, Texas. Linda was born on January 26, 1947, to J.D. and Sarah Ione (Keener) Gray in Ennis, Texas. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1965. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Woman’s University.

A talented artist, quilter, and crafter, Linda owned and operated the Needle Art Shop until 1987. Linda then spent many years as a social worker in retirement homes and eventually got into the field of nursing home administration. Linda’s heart was always with the people in the nursing home and came back to social work as the Volunteer Coordinator for New Century Hospice in Corsicana. Linda knew just how to make the residents and volunteers feel special and poured her love into personal handmade items for them. She enjoyed quilting, needlework, and keeping up with her many family members.

She is survived by two brothers: Jerry E. Gray and wife Judy of College Station, TX and Samuel R. Gray and wife Helen of Abiquiu, NM, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and one sister: Wesley J. Gray, William C. Gray, Charles T. Gray, Robert L. Gray, Jefferson D. Gray, Jr., and Sallie N. Hutton.
