Randy Mack Lewis
Randy Mack Lewis entered the gates of Heaven in the early morning hours of April 27, 2024 surrounded by his loving family, greeted by both his Heavenly Father, and Earthly Father J.L. Lewis. He was born in Waxahachie, Texas on February 20, 1955 to J.L. (Jelly) and Laura Gay Lewis. Randy attended Ennis ISD schools and graduated from Ennis High School in 1973. He was a member of the football and baseball teams, and continued his academic and baseball careers at Tyler Junior College and East Texas Baptist University.
In October of 1985 he met the “Luckiest Woman in the World” Deliah Eaves at a halloween party dressed as Santa Clause. After wooing her with his ways, she agreed to dinner at Trail Dust Steakhouse where they talked for hours - missing the car show they had planned on attending. After dinner, Deliah was brought to realize how deep his love for family was when he asked if she wanted to go meet some of his nieces and nephews… on the first date. He had a habit of bragging about his family members to anyone who would listen - and kept going even when people weren’t listening!
Randy and Deliah married in 1987 at the First United Methodist Church in Ennis, and in 1989 Deliah gave birth to their oldest son, Christopher. Four years later their family was complete when Jonathan was born in January of 1993.
Randy and the boys spent countless hours in a deer stand, around numerous fishing holes, on baseball fields, on vacation at Lake Texoma, visiting grandparents, and in the shop “piddling” with anything that wasn’t running, working, or needed a tune up.
Randy provided anything and everything his family could have needed or wanted as the best Dad any family could ask for. He loved working to make a difference at the Texas Baptist Home for Children in Waxahachie, and at the Promise House in Dallas. He served as the Youth Pastor for Anthony Drive Baptist Church where he taught a multitude of kids how to snow ski and love the Lord, and taught Sunday School at Tabernacle Baptist for many years. He was a volunteer fireman for the community of Alma and finished his working career as the Director of Maintenance and Transportation for Gorman ISD. No matter where he went, he made sure to leave it better than he found it, and treat people the right way.
Outside of providing for his family, Randy had a passion for teaching and coaching baseball. He coached numerous American Legion, TTAB, and select teams throughout his career, including a 2004 team that won the Triple Crown National Championship in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. No matter the league, no matter the team, Randy found a way to teach crucial life lessons to young men while winning baseball games.
After retiring from Gorman ISD Randy worked diligently in Kokomo clearing wild plum, fixing tank dams, building and replacing fences, filling deer feeders, building deer stands, checking game cameras, and enjoyed entertaining and loving on grandkids.
During his battle with stomach cancer, Randy had every chance to throw in the towel, call it quits, and wallow in his pain and suffering. But that’s not how an Ennis Lion operates. Instead he chose to remain positive, gearing up for a fight that would give him more time with the greatest loves of his life, his grandchildren.
Randy is survived by his Mother Laura Gay Nelson of Ennis, brother Dennis and wife Clarissa Lewis of Rockwall, sister Lacy and husband Wayne Thompson of Kaufman, brother Darren and wife Staci Lewis of Troup, his wife Deliah Eaves Lewis, oldest son Chris and wife Jensen Lewis of Ennis, youngest son Jon and wife Breanna of Richardson, 3 amazing grandchildren Jackson (Toodlums), Asher (Tugger), and Ella (Ella Bella Boo), and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Lewis family would like to thank the Nurses, Doctors, and staff at the Baylor Scott & White Hospital, Inhabit Home Healthcare, and Traditions Hospice Care for their unending love and care of our Dad, Uncle Bubba, and Pop throughout his illness.

Don’t ever doubt it, don’t ever forget it! Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Grady Cashion and Rev. James Hunter officiating. Pallbearers will be Brett Lewis, Michael Anthony, Jared Hamm, Kyle Lewis, Weldon Caldwell and Bill Black. Interment will follow in Simpson Cemetery of Kokomo, Texas under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
