Bill Jack McLelland
Bill McLelland, 82, passed away surrounded by love and family, leaving behind a life filled with cherished memories and a legacy of kindness, dedication, and resilience. Born and raised in Ennis, Texas, Bill graduated from Ennis High School in 1961. His passion for football and education led him to Texas Tech University, where he proudly played for the Red Raiders and graduated in 1969.
Bill’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his brother, Butch McLelland, sister-in-law, Jan McLelland, and his two sons and daughters-in-law, Hal & Tina McLelland and Chris & Kim McLelland. His heart was full of love for his four grandchildren, Tyler McLelland, Raygan Davis, Hayden McLelland, and Camryn McLelland, as well as his five great-grandchildren Bill’s family grew even larger through his marriage to Connie Chatmas-McLelland, where he gained two stepchildren, Rich & Melanie Chatmas and Robin Chatmas, along with four step-grandchildren. He also had a special bond with his nephew, Todd McLelland, and his niece, Christie Kubin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Mary McLelland, his brother, Michael McLelland, and his beloved wife, Connie Chatmas-McLelland.
A grave-side service to celebrate Bill’s life was held on Saturday, January 25th, at 12 PM at Calvary Cemetery in Marlin, Texas.
Bill will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his community, and his passion for life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
