Leopoldo R. Montemayor

Leopoldo R. Montemayor, lovingly known as Polo, passed away on January 26, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family. Whether he was known as Dad, Tío Polo, or Grandpa, he lived life with an unmatched zest for fun and joy. His vibrant spirit and unique presence touched everyone around him in ways that can never be replicated. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will always serve as a reminder to live life with laughter, love, and high spirits. Polo’s legacy of joy will continue to inspire all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Manuel Montemayor of Farmers Branch, Faustino Montemayor of Dallas, Esteban of Pharr, Juan of Sudan, George Montemayor of Ferris, Ignacio of Ennis, Ramiro of Ennis; sisters SanJuana Canpa of Ennis, and Crecensia of Ennis.

Leopoldo is survived by his spouse Maria D. Montemayor; children Leopoldo Montemayor Jr. of Fort Worth, Jose Montemayor of Plattsburgh, New York, Laura Montemayor of Dallas, Tx, Adam Montemayor of Dallas, Tx; brother Guadalupe Montemayor of Ennis; sister Josephine Davila of Colbert, Washington, Sarah Tobar of Ennis, and Elena Davila of Ennis.

The family will receive visitors Friday, January 31, 2025 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home Chapel in Ennis, Texas. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Myrtle Cemetery in Ennis, Tx. Services will be officiated by Amy Davis with the following Pallbearers: Leopoldo Montemayor III, Emmanuel Estrada, Fabian Vargas, Christopher Giles, Noel Montemayor, Jairo Costilla, Adrian Macias, AJ Macias.

Arrangements were under the direction of Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis. 972878-2211
