Elias Vasquez, Sr
t is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elias Vasquez, Sr. on January 27, 2025.
Born on August 11, 1941, in Dallas, Texas, Elias lived a life full of love, dedication and hard work.
Elias is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Cecilia (Escamilla) Vasquez, of Ferris, Texas, and their children: Elias Vasquez, Jr., Angel Vasquez and wife Sylvia, Mario Vasquez and wife LaVonna, and Christopher Vasquez.
He was a proud grandfather to Jessie Vasquez, Haley Vasquez, Emily Vasquez, Mario Vasquez, Jr. and wife Kacy, Maegen McKee and husband Bryce, Michell Vasquez and Kele Vasquez, as well as a great-grandfather to 12 great-grandchildren.
Elias dedicated 21 years of service to the City of Ennis before retiring. His committment to his work and community left a lasting impact on those around him. He will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his infectious laughter and his kind and generous spirit. Elias’ memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on February 4, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. with Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home, 8142 Lake June Road in Dallas. Mass of the Christian Burial will be on February 5, 2025, at 8 a.m., at St. Edward’s Cathedral Church, 4014 Simpson Road in Dallas, followed by burial at 10 a.m., in Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, Texas.
