Guadalupe L. Martinez, 88 passed away in Ennis, Texas on Saturday, August 1, 2020.
Guadalupe was born on November 22, 1931 to Pablo and Elderia (Livar) Martinez. He grew up in South Texas. He married Felicita Garcia and they began their married life in Robstown.
Guadalupe ran the family business for over thirty years as a Rancher. He was a member of the Texas Longhorn Owners Association and St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church.
Guadalupe is survived by sons: Richard Martinez and wife, Olga, Ralph Martinez and wife, Mary and Jesse Martinez and wife, Susan; daughters Adela Martinez, Angie Dent, Anita Gomes and husband, Joe, Amelia Valdez and husband, John, Diane Arreola and husband, Phillip, and Rachel Knight and husband, Vance; forty grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous greatgreat-grandchildren; two sisters: Cecila Munoz and Maria Cerda along with a host of extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Felicita Martinez; children: Pablo Martinez, Domingo Martinez, Rudy Martinez, Ann Marie Martinez and Adelina Salazar and sister, Adela Martinez. Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis. Pallbearers were Gino Martinez, Johnny Ray Valdez, Domingo Martinez, Jr., Cody Dlabaj, Zachary Martinez and Zeke Martine. Honorary pallbearers were Jake Martinez, Austin Arreola and Sheldon Knight. Interment followed in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
