Helen Lee Hodge

Helen Hodge began worshiping in Heaven Sunday, July 21, 2024, alongside her beloved husband, Charles. She was born in Johnstown, Missouri, to Otis and Faye Maupin on August 31, 1933. She was raised in a loving home with two wonderful sisters. She graduated from South High School in Denver, Colorado. She met her husband, Charles B. Hodge, from Byrd, Texas, on her first day at Harding University, in Searcy, Arkansas, where he proceeded to “take her off the market.” Helen worked side by side with Charles for 68 years in ministry before his death.

Helen will be remembered for her love for the LORD, knowledge of the Bible and her laugh! She had a natural talent and love for flowers that led her to work at Joy Floral in Fort Worth, Texas, and to her own beautiful home and backyard. Helen was always available to listen.

Helen is loved and will be dearly missed by her children, Sherri and her husband, Michael Marchant, Terry Hallmark, Jack and his wife, Laura Hodge, Jerry and his wife, Lori Hodge; as well as ten grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren; and her two sisters, Jan Brown and Jeanne May.

Helen laid in repose from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. The family invited relatives and friends to a Celebration of Life, 11:00 am, Friday, July 26, at the Bardwell Church of Christ, 404 Waxahachie Ave., Bardwell, TX 75119.

Interment followed at Grady Cemetery, Bardwell, TX. The family would greatly appreciate, in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Grady Cemetery Association, 1044 Sandswitch Rd, Ennis, TX 75119.

Helen left us with a wink and a smile!
