Margaret Ann Isbell

Margaret Ann Isbell, 89, of Ennis, passed away on July 9, 2024. She was born in St. Louis, MO, on Dec. 3, 1934, to Henry Arthur and Agnes Bernice (Conway) Bauer. Margaret worked as a telephone operator in St. Louis where she met George Isbell, who worked for Western Electric installing phone equipment. They married on June 30, 1953, also in St.

Louis, and were married for 69 years.

Her family moved to southern Missouri and finally to Ennis in 1965. Margaret’s biggest hobby for decades was bowling and she was good enough to be a professional. She loved to travel; visiting China and Europe. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She also liked bingo and beading.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Paul Isbell; grandson, Josh Easley and granddaughter, Tiffany.

She is survived by her children: son, Steve Isbell and wife Cindy, of Duncanville; son, George Isbell, Jr., of San Diego, CA; daughter, Pat Easley and husband Cecil, of Corsicana; and daughter, Linda Smith and husband Bobby, of Palmer; brothers: George Bauer and wife Rayola, and Sonny Bauer; of MO; 20 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and three great great granchildren.

Funeral service was held on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Calvary Baptist Church, 805 W. Baldridge, Ennis. James Patterson will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
