Patricia Lucille Prestidge
Patricia Lucille (Whitfill) Prestidge, 92, took the journey to her Heavenly home on February 22, 2023, surrounded by her family. Lucille was one of eleven children born to Anthony Eaghart and Mary Christina (Kelly) Whitfill on May 17, 1930, in Alma, Texas. She graduated from St. John High School in May 1948 and married the love of her life Oscar Coye Prestidge on February 21, 1954, and they made their home in Ennis and they had four children: Randall, Janice, Phyllis and Brian.
She was member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Lucille worked for Ennis Business Forms and Story Mfg. She loved being a mother and grandmother and her greatest joy was her family. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing cards, playing bingo, dancing and reading.
She is survived by daughters: Janice Wilson and husband, Glen, Phyllis Strunc and husband, Danny and son, Brian Prestidge. Grandchildren: Danny Strunc, Jr., Jared Ruffin and wife, Morgan, Bradley Prestidge, Kimberly (Strunc) Bailey and husband, Zack, Rachel Ruffin and fiancé, Josh Manry and Ashlee (Wilson) Herr and husband Chad. Great grandchildren: Blake Prestidge, Alana Prestidge, Coye Strunc, Luke Bailey, Rebecca Ruffin, Brynne Bailey, Norah Herr, Bodie Herr and Croix Herr. Sister, Geraldine Gurley and brothers: Fred Whitfill and wife, Deuton and Paul Whitfill and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Coye Prestidge and her eldest son, Randall Prestidge, brothers, Clarence Whitfill, Lloyd Whitfill, Gilbert Whitfill and sisters, Gertrude Langley, Theresa Odlozil, Thelma Pruitt and Henrietta Mc-Clintock and bonus grandchild, Krista Wilson.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Legends Oaks Rehab and Nursing Home and everyone at Bristol Hospice for the loving care they provided to there mother.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rosary at 4 p.m.
Mass of the Christian Burial was on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 10 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father Agustin Fuertes as Celebrant. Pallbearers will be Danny Strunc, Jr, Jared Ruffin, Bradley Prestidge, Zack Bailey, Josh Manry and Chad Herr. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
