Richard (Ricardo) Castillo

Ricardo Castillo, 76, went to be with our Lord on April 24, 2023. He was born in Ennis, Texas on February 26, 1947 to Raymundo and Josefa Castillo. He resided in Ennis for most of his life. Ricardo was a proud member of the United States Army for a brief time beginning in 1966.

Ricardo was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved to fish, watch old western shows & movies, doo wop music, old cars, his Chuck Taylor’s, and antiques. His 1969 Chevy SS was his most prized possession.

He is survived by his wife Lucy Castillo; six children Monica Castillo, Nate Castillo (and wife Cindy Castillo), Roland Castillo, Lisa Castillo, Christina Garrett, and Jillian Martinez; ten grandchildren Timpestt Castillo, Tatum Gallardo (and husband Filiberto Gallardo), Tanner Castillo, Tyeler Castillo, Alexis Allred, Channing Castillo, Jaeden Castillo, Jorden Castillo, Kobe Hoggatt, and Kylan Sadler; three sisters Rosa Garcia, Yolanda Trujillo, and Delia Marlow; five brothers Henry Castillo, David Castillo, Raul Castillo, Freddie Castillo, and Edward Castillo, as well as several wonderful cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymundo & Josefa Castillo; four brothers Saragosa Castillo, Ysidro Castillo, Raymundo Castillo, Abel Castillo; three sisters Maryita Castillo, Delfa Arrambide, and Anita Castillo; and his grandson Symon Castillo.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 30, 2023 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis, Texas with Rosary at 4 p.m.

Mass of the Christian burial was held on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Ennis. Pallbearers will be Timpestt Castillo, Tatum Castillo, Filiberto Gallardo, Salvador Espinoza, Robert Castillo, Markus Castillo, Stevie Castillo, Jaeden Castillo. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
