Combining the best in fashion, hairstyling and makeup is a trendy detonation for women of all ages called, appropriately, Boom, Beauty and Boutique. The shop is located at 114 N. Dallas Street, across from the Ennis Public Theatre.

“We are so excited about being downtown,” said co-owner Sheena Benson, 36. “With Dallas Street construction being complete and the foot traffic from the Bluebonnet (Farmers) Market and Sip, Shop and Stroll, we have met so many people. And its only getting better.”

A month of crowd-pleasing extends through next week when the Haymaze and Pumpkin Patch are joined by carnival style food downtown. The family fun, autumn photo ops and tasty treats begin on Thursday, Oct. 29, and continue through Sunday, Nov. 1.

Sponsored by Ennis Main Street, each day begins at 1 p.m. and lasts until 9 p.m. The only thing with a price tag are food items.

The City of Ennis, Parks and Rec and the creative aerosol paint and design of Ben Vyers have made the Hay Maze a great attraction downtown. Use caution in the area when smoking.

Added lighting and video surveillance are a plus, especially considering the foot traffic of children and families, let alone a warning to vandals. The display of hay and pumpkins have been the target of night damage, hence the cameras, improved lighting and added eyes.
