Former standout at Ennis, Ervin Chandler was recently named the new HC at Class 5A Princeton. He had been the head man and Athletic Director at nearby Class 3A Blooming Grove.

Chandler, whose arrival at The Grove was described as bigger than life by a local newspaper, from the way he approached students, the athletic program and its facilities. His energy was a huge hit while leading the Lions to a 4-6 mark in 2019 and 7-4 this season.

Two teams that Ennis soundly thrashed earlier in the season, Red Oak and Mansfield Summit, recovered and remain alive in the Class 5A Division I playoffs. That speaks volumes about the competition the Lions faced during the regular season.

The North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging is offering free self-management health education workshops for older adults with chronic disease, diabetes, or chronic pain. These At-Home Workshops were developed through Stanford University and provide tools and information about making healthy food choices, increasing physical activity, managing symptoms and pain, goal setting and much more. Workshops also provide opportunity to connect to others from the safety of their homes.
