HC Joel Davenport said that senior Krista Vasquez (right) fired an 81-77. The latter has committed to play golf at Blinn Junior College.

Both the girls and boys team will return for the spring season after the holidays.

Versatile in the clutch, junior WR and Defensive Back Jace Berry, stepped in and stepped up when Ennis needed him most.

The 5’11, 190-pounder spelled T.T. Cox in the backfield in the second half, gaining 51 yards on nine carries. Berry was also ripe for two receptions and 23 yards.

Seniors Emma Jones (left) and Hannah Brandt had another productive season as partners on Palmer’s girls’ doubles, tennis team. Playing rackets since their freshman year, they steadily improved their skills and teamwork and were district runners-up this spring. Twice they reached the Class 3A regionals as a duo. They won their first match in two sets and advanced to the quarter-finals. Their season ended with a 16-9 record.

HC Susan Vasquez spoke of having thoroughly enjoyed coaching them for four years. “They knew how to lift one another up when they struggled,” she said.
