A week after a disappointing 29-28 overtime loss at Rice in which Palmer (5-1) lost their top two quarterbacks to injury, they bounced back with a vengeance in a 58-13 rout of Mildred (2-4).
Palmer scored on their first six possessions and didn’t ease up until the fourth quarter. Against Rice they built a 22-7 halftime lead. Three times they marched to within the shadow of the goal post without finishing. In the closing minutes they were turned away inside the one. This time they took no prisoners.
