Communities expressing thanks to healthcare workers
While the City of Ennis yearns to become a destination for families and travelers, the Ennis Regional Medical Center continues its mission to be the place where people choose to come for healthcare. In light of the county, state, nation and world come against COVID-19, the chief executive officer of ERMC says “it has been so encouraging to see the outpouring of support from Ellis County for Ennis Regional Medical Center.
“We take our responsibility as a community leader very seriously,” says CEO Bob Honeycutt. “As our neighbors have come together to do everything possible to slow the spread of this vicious virus amid unprecedented challenges, we have never been more proud to be a part of this community.”
Of course, in the same breath he reiterates the manta of health and civic leaders by urging citizens “to take the important steps necessary to keep our community as safe and healthy as possible, including staying home as much as we can, practicing social distancing and following sound medical guidance.”
Honeycutt arrived in town from Phoenix, Arizona in September of 2017. An avid sports fan, he is often seen at Ennis games from football to volleyball, basketball, softball and baseball. He knows the value of support and blowing wind into the sales of leaders and servants. He plead for community recognition of those on the front line.
“Today,” he said on Friday, “I ask one more thing of our community, including myself, to thank a healthcare hero.
“Some moments ask more of us as a society, as a community and as individuals. Moments like those need heroes. From grocery store employees and delivery workers to educators teaching remotely and those keeping our infrastructure and essential services running, this current moment has no shortage of heroes. And that includes our heroes on the front lines of this crisis – our healthcare workers.
“Our healthcare workers are not only a cornerstone of our hospital’s mission of Making Communities Healthier, they are integral members of our community. They are moms and dads.
Brothers and sisters. Friends and neighbors. And especially today, they are heroes, fighting on the front lines to provide compassionate, quality care when it’s needed most.”
Ennis Regional Medical Center honors their providers and employees who are working hard to ensure a safe place of care and a healthier community for everyone.
“I hope you will join me and add your voice to the chorus of appreciation for our community’s healthcare heroes by posting your own message of thanks on your favorite social media, with the hashtag #ThankAHealthCareHero,” continued Honeycutt. “Let’s show our hometown heroes how much we appreciate their incredible and inspiring efforts to keep us safe.”
He also expressed gratitude for supporting ERMC BY “trusting us with your care as we help guide our community through the COVID-19 situation as safely as possible. We will get through this together.”
