Ennis News building for sale
The historic downtown building that has been home to The Ennis News for decades, is officially for sale. The newspaper, however, is not being sold and will continue to publish its weekly edition and specialty magazines.
“The Ennis News will continue to be the eyes, ears and voice of Ennis and the surrounding area,” said General Manager Nikki Cohan. “This building once housed our printing facility. Now that we are printing our newspaper offsite, we have far too much space. We feel it would be best to allow new development to take advantage of our prominent location, which is only one block from Minnie McDowal Park in the heart of Ennis.”
Located at 213 N. Dallas Street, the facility has 4,340 square feet with alley access.
Cohan noted The Ennis News is interested in a small rental property to house the staff. Persons with rental space or those interested in purchasing the building are encouraged to call 972-875- 3801.
The Ennis News has been in operation for approximately 130 years. The publication has won numerous awards statewide for its content, columns and photography.
