Ardeena L. Wood
Ardeena L. Wood, 94, passed away in Waco, Texas on Thursday, October 24, 2019.
Ardeena was born on December 31, 1924. She grew up in Ennis and Bardwell and graduated from Bardwell School. On March 12, 1944 she married Robert H. Wood and they lived on the family farm in Bardwell.
Ardeena worked for many years for Slayton Insurance and the City of Bardwell as City Secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bardwell and was a member of the Eastern Star for over fifty years. Ardeena loved her family and enjoyed her cats and dogs. She loved to cook for her family, and her church family, and friends.
She is survived by her son, Randy Wood and wife, Edna; grandchildren: Lindsey and Karmen; great-granddaughter, Presley Smith; sister, Velma Hyde and husband, Bill along with a host of extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert H. Wood on June 2, 2007, two sisters, two brothers and a grandson, Michael on September 23, 2016.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Rev. Eddie Ballard officiating. Interment will follow in the Elm Branch Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
