James "Jimmy" Arthur Crowe

James “Jimmy” Arthur Crowe was born on September 4, 1944, to J.D. Crow and Nellie (Hall) Crow. He passed away at the age of 77 on January 6, 2022.

Jimmy grew up in Ennis where he attended and graduated from Ennis High School in 1962. He entered the United States Army (SPC E-4) in 1968 and served for two years and then remained in the Army Reserve for six more years. Germany and Alaska were two of the many destinations he traveled to while serving his country. He was awarded a National Defense Service Medal, Expert M-14 and Expert M-16.

Jimmy married his beloved wife of 42 years, Dianne Cantrell in 1971. They remained in Ennis where he was a Printing Foreman/Pressman for Ennis Business Forms for the majority of his career. He was very active for most of his life and enjoyed bowling, golfing and classic cars. Jimmy was a member of the American Legion Post 361 for over fifty years where he enjoyed spending time with his many friends and veterans that he was so fond of. He was very close to his siblings his entire life and loved all his family. He never left his hometown of Ennis and lived his last years happily with his fiancée Martha Farmer and their adored dogs Rudy, Boo-Bear and Maddie. His presence will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Crowe; parents J.D Crow and Nellie (Hall) Crow; his brother J.D. Crow Jr. and his sister Barbara Williamson.

Jimmy is survived by his children Susan Sims of Waco, Kimberly Hitchcock and husband Kelly of Tyler and his son James Crowe of Ennis; five grandchildren Shane Sims, Brandi Sims, Dillon Crowe, Konnor Hitchcock, Kourtney Hitchcock and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings -Wanda Rankin of Seguin, Margie Hood and husband Bobby of Rowlett, Elizabeth Hickman and husband Winston of Sachse and Patricia Wilson of Rowlett - as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, and his fiancée Martha Farmer of Ennis, TX.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Ennis. Masks are appreciated. A lunch will follow for friends and family at the American Legion in Ennis, TX. The service will be streamed live for those who are unable to attend.
