Carol Sue Huff
Carol Sue Lemmon Huff, 76, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, July 29, 2022, in Royse City, Texas.
Carol Sue “Susie” was born in Ennis, Texas, on February 9, 1946, to Mimi and Happy Lemmon, and they raised her with a brother, Mike (“Bubba”), and two sisters, Patsy Ann (“Cissy”) and Mary Jane (“Janie”). Their house was always filled with God’s love. Susie grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1964. She was a member of the EHS Honor Society, the EHS Band, and she also sang in an EHS ensemble group.
On June 19, 1971, she married John Stephen (“Steve”) Huff and they made their home in Ennis. Susie attended classes at Navarro College, then worked in Dallas for several years after. She was a member of Alpha Eta Mu sorority and was a First Lady of Ennis with the organization. Susie was a loving nursery worker and taught Pre-K classes for many years at Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she also sang in the choir every Sunday she was able.
Susie loved and felt a deep connection with those she spent time with, but her first love was Jesus, and her second love was children.
Susie will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched, but her memories will be especially cherished by her family. These include her husband of fifty-one years, Steve Huff; son David Huff, daughter-in-law Julie Huff and grandchildren Max and Aubrey; son Tim Huff, daughter-in-law Patty Huff, and grandchildren Danielle, Evie, and Iris; sister Mary Jane Collard; sister-in-law Janet Huff; and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews, whom Susie loved dearly.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 4, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
A Celebration of her life was held on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Bob Thomas officiating. Pallbearers were Jeff Collard, Jerry Collard, Glen E. Milam, Jr., Greg Milam, Gary Milam, Jack Lemmon, Wallace Emmert, Wayne Jackson, and Harold Barker.
