David Kevin Witt, 56, left this world on August 23, 2019, in Waxahachie, Texas.

David was born on October 7, 1962, in Monahans, Texas. He was born on his parents and maternal grandparent’s anniversary, and shared a birthday with his paternal grandmother. On May 25, 1996, he married Teel Thomas Witt, and they joined their families of five boys and one girl.

After graduating high school in Coahoma, Texas, David worked for Cameo Homes in Big Spring, Texas. He later transferred to Sunrizon Homes in Ennis and became a service technician, a job he loved, during which received multiple awards for excellent service. In March 1990, he began working for Elk Corporation in Ennis, where he served in various positions. In 2007 Elk Corporation became GAF Material Corporation where he was serving as Senior Electrician at the time of his death.

He is preceded in death by grandparents Howard and LaJoyce Witt, Royce and Dorothy Fikes, and mother-in-law, Wilma Thomas.

He is survived by his wife, Teel of Palmer; six children: K9 Trooper Shawn Witt and wife, Yvonne, of Big Spring; James Allen, Jr. of Waxahachie; Marine Staff Sgt. Jeffery Allen and wife, Brittany, of Brick, NJ; Kathryn Allen of Ennis; Michael Ozuna Witt and wife, Elizabeth of Irving; Army Staff Sgt. Steven Witt and wife Brandy, of Fort Benning, Georgia; bonus daughter Crystal Pakula and husband William of Palmer; parents Hilton and Lanelle Witt of Big Spring; sister Donna Williamson of Big Spring; brothers Daryl and wife, Diane of Brownwood; Dennis and wife, Tajuana of Big Spring; fatherin-law Hayman Thomas of Palmer; sister-in-law Susan Schmidt and husband, Jason of Waxahachie; nephews Michael Williamson and wife, Magen of Big Spring; and Conner Schmidt of Waxahachie; nieces Sara Boyce and husband Wes of Arkadelphia, AR; and Jenna Schmidt of Waxahachie; grandchildren Alexxay Witt of Waxahachie, Samuel Allen of Brick, NJ, Evelyn Ozuna of Irving, Adrian Ozuna of Irving and Eliana Ozuna of Irving; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was held Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., J.E. Keever Mortuary in Palmer, TX.

Celebration of Life was held Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, 2 p.m., First Baptist Church, Palmer. Internment followed in Palmer City Cemetery, Dr. David Baxley and Bro. Paul Gauntt officiating. Pallbearers John Melotte, David Hernandez, Jason Smith, Steve Flint, Keith Sibley, Danny Cruz, and Randy Brumley.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Palmer, Girls Missionary Auxiliary; Texas State Troopers Association; Wounded Warriors or a charity of your choice.
