James Henry Pustejovsky
James Henry Pustejovsky passed away peacefully at his home in Ennis, Texas, on March 7, 2022.
James was born on October 1, 1942, in Aquilla, Texas, to John and Georgia Pustejovsky. After graduating from Aquilla High School, he was employed as an electrician by Murr Brothers. He was later employed by Fishbach and Moore & Robinson Industries as a project manager. During that time, he was responsible for many large construction projects throughout the DFW metroplex.
While working in Dallas, James met his wife, Dorothy Ann Honza. They were married in Ennis, Texas, in 1964 and then lived in Dallas. In 1973, they moved to Ennis where he got to fulfill his dream of living in the country to raise cattle.
James, who was affectionately known to his family as “Pop,” enjoyed taking rides around the farm with his wife and his faithful companion, Buster, to check on the cows and hay. But nothing made him happier than spending time with his family at the farm.
For many years, James was a devoted Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He served as the Grand Knight of the Ennis Council for two terms. James was also a member of St. John Catholic Church, the KJT, the Telico Volunteer Fire Department and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
James is survived by his wife of more than 58 years, Dorothy; his daughter, Debbie Novy and husband Mark; and sons: Mike Pustejovsky and wife Jamie, and Jim Pustejovsky and wife Wendy. He is also survived by grandchildren: Tyler Novy and wife Sara, Caitlyn Novy, Rachel Pustejovsky, Hannah Pustejovsky, Mayson Pustejovsky and fiancée Dalton Kozlovsky, Rileigh Navarro and husband Cody and Laynie Pustejovsky and fiancée Grant Reel, and his first great-grandchild, Davis Navarro. He is also survived by brothers: Erwin Pustejovsky and wife Rita, Gary Pustejovsky and wife Betsy; sister, Myra Jernigan and sister-in-law, Delma Sue Karlik.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; brothers: Reverend Bernard Pustejovsky, Ronnie Pustejovsky, Dennis Ray Pustejovsky and sister Janice Kay Pustejovsky.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Boze Mitchell McKibbin chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Fred Caldwell at St. John Catholic Church in Ennis on Wednesday, March 16 at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery under the direction of Boze Mitchell McKibbin.
