Josephine Sanchez Castillo
Josephine Sanchez Castillo, 78, of Grand Prairie,TX, passed away on January 25, 2022, after a battle with Covid. Josie was born on March 28th, 1943, to Mariano Gomez and Maria Villalobos Gomez in Detroit, Michigan. In 1958, She met Ysidro Castillo, and they wed in 1958, going on to have nine children, Silvia, Ysidro Jr., Ralph, Christopher, David, Richard, Angie, Robert, and Michael. When Josie had Silvia, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Josie excelled at taking care of her children and husband and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether that was supporting her husband through difficult times or guiding her children through life’s struggles, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others. Josie was a passionate cook and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her kitchen, cooking a meal for her family or anyone who came by hungry. She loved to visit with family and kept up with all the family gatherings as long as her health was good. We will miss her greatly.
Josephine was predeceased by her parents Mariano Gomez and Maria Villalobos Gomez, her husband Ysidro, and her siblings Bob San Miguel and Gloria Gomez Carmona.
She is survived by all her children, Silvia (Mario) Quiroz, Ysidro Jr., Ralph (Robin) Castillo, Christopher (Lupita) Castillo, Richard Castillo, Angie Hamdan , David Castillo, Robert Castillo, and Michael Castillo. She is also survived by her siblings, Tony San Miguel and Maria Nena Gomez, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to J.E. Keever Mortuary in Ennis, Texas.
Visitation and Rosary will be held at J.E. Keever Mortuary, 408 North Dallas Street, Ennis, Texas on Sunday, January 30, 2022, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. with Rosary being recited at 4 p.m.
Mass of the Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022, at 10 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
