Mary Eleanor Comiskey Ludwig
Mary Eleanor Comiskey Ludwig (Nonna) was born in Ennis, Texas on May 19, 1928 and passed away in Ennis, Texas on March 26th, 2020 at the young age of 91. Mary was the third child born to Patrick and Christina Comiskey. On February 16th, 1947, she married the love of her life, Max Herbert Ludwig.
She is survived her daughters and sons in laws: Pat and Joe Webster, Rosemary and Miles Chesley, Joey and Mike Lennon, and Sylvia and Brian Fry. In addition, she leaves behind to cherish her memory her grandsons: Jason Webster, Adam Lennon, Russell Lennon, Dr. Patrick Chesley, Austin Fry, Alex Fry, Evan Fry and Christopher Callaway and her granddaughters: Erin Pierce, Jennifer Railsback, Melissa Ludwig, Sara Tornincasa, Joanna Cunningham, Dr. Rachel Thienprayoon, and Robin Lennon, and 22 great grandchildren. Also survived by her siblings: Dorothy Penney, Patrick Comiskey, Glenn Comiskey, Jerry Comiskey, Paul Wayne Comiskey and Theresa O’Hayre. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Herbert of 66 years, her son Michael and her siblings Bill Comiskey, Gene Comiskey and Barbara Kelsey.
Mary was an accomplished baker owning a bakery in her home where she created decorated cakes and other baked goods for the community for many years. She loved to enter her yeast breads in the state fair and won “Best of Show” in 1982. She was the consummate hostess, hosting many events and games nights over her lifetime. She was a wonderful friend to many.
Mary was a volunteer for many years serving as Girl Scout Leader, Pink Lady and Candy Striper Sponsor. She was named “First Lady of Ennis” in commemoration of her volunteer activities.

Rosary will be recited on Friday, June 12, 2020 beginning at 9:30 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Monsignor Leon Duesman as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
