Stephen Mark Chudej
Stephen Mark Chudej, 58, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, after battling pancreatic cancer since April 2018.
Stephen was born in Ennis, Texas, on Dec. 4, 1961, to Jerry and Agnes (Krajca) Chudej. He married Delia Hejny on Dec. 12, 1992, in San Antonio, Texas.
Stephen was a successful costume designer, earning himself three Emmy Awards: The first for “Pancho Barnes” and the other two for “Wishbone.” He also owned and operated San Marcos Costume Company, renting period costumes to television, film and stage productions. In September 2019, Stephen received the Gratitude Award from “Women in Film Dallas.” Other info on his career can be accessed online at IMDb website.
Stephen is survived by his wife; daughter, Haley Lorraine Chudej, of Stafford, VA; son, Travis Riley Chudej, attending college at Texas A&M at Corpus Christi; sister, Monica Popko, of Northville, MI; niece, Angela Stempien, and her spouse Vince Stempien and their three children, of Northville, MI.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Stephen donated his body to UT Southwestern in Dallas. No memorials or service have been planned at this time. Announcements for such services will be made when appropriate.
