Ennis will become the first city in Texas to install an underground refuse system when they host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. on January 24, 2022. The event, held at the Welcome Center at 201 NW Main St. in Ennis’ Historic Downtown, will display two of the innovative solutions for refuse as well as the collection vehicle.
Refreshments will be served along with a short presentation from the CEO of Underground Refuse Systems showcasing how the leading-edge system works.
Birdie Mae Brown was born on June 21, 1922, to her late parents John Brown and Cordie Williams Haynes in Pelham, Texas. She was educated within the Pelham School District. She accepted Christ at an early age. Years later, she met and married Mr. Ruben Brown. To this union there were 13 children (seven boys and six girls).
Built in the 1960s on the site of the former Old Alamo Elementary School, San Jacinto Auditorium is now a community-utilized facility serving as a venue for a variety of events, from meetings to concerts. At least two instances of ghosts are connected with the building. One involves strange sounds in the offices and classrooms at the rear of the building. Described as chairs being slid across the floor, the activity has been attributed to a former Ennis High theater director named Fred Rankin who died in a car accident in the 1970s.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You'll meet with opposition if you use force this year. Do your homework and know what you need to do to get what you want. Be willing to compromise and to put in the time required to reach your objective. Don't let anger or manipulation flare up when what's required to get ahead is loyalty, dedication and cooperation. Keep the peace when dealing with friends, relatives and your loved ones. Making a big deal out of nothing won't help you get your way. Look inward. Choose peace and love over discord.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
A heartfelt approach to life and love will help you avoid the pitfalls that go along with misunderstandings due to lack of communication. Don't just think this year; share your thoughts, listen to what others say and do whatever it takes to make yourself and your loved ones proud. Put kindness and consideration first. Trust is sacred, and if it's lacking in your life, rethink what you are doing. A change may not be welcome, but it may be necessary. Clear the air and formulate a plan that will take you where you want to go.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Take nothing for granted, and forge ahead with optimism. Don't waste valuable time on things that don't matter. A positive attitude coupled with the desire to make domestic alterations consistent with your long-term plans will help you maintain a better quality of life. Tidy up loose ends that stand between you and what you want to achieve. Follow your interests. Incorporate something you love to do into your daily routine. Work that you enjoy can make your life less stressful. Let go of the past.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
Get back to basics, and you'll turn your dream into a reality. Less fretting and more hands-on work will bring you closer to your destination. Let the past guide you to solid ground and encourage you to avoid making the same mistakes. Trust your instincts and set worthy yet practical goals. Stand behind your beliefs and refuse to let anyone intervene in your private affairs. Consider how you can take advantage of a change. Put personal improvements first and make romance a priority.
