Fans of baseball know most of the rules of the game, at least enough to enjoy watching one of America’s most popular sports. One of them is a common rule that regularly comes into play. The foul line.
The foul line in baseball is the two lines that extend from home plate, through first base and third base, all the way to the outfield foul poles. If the baseball is hit onto this line, it is in fair territory and is a base hit. If a baseball is hit into foul territory, beyond these lines, it is a foul ball. Simple enough.
