Friends of the Library Host Spring Mini Book Sale

The Friends of the Ennis Public Library will hold a Spring Mini Book Sale on Friday, April 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Many titles in fiction, non-fiction, childrens’, old, collectible, etc. All proceeds benefit programs presented throughout the year for children and adults.

Demascus Road Fellowship AlAnon meetings

Demascus Road Fellowship Church now offers Al-Anon meetings. Meetings are held on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the DRF Youth Building located at 113. W. Knox St. For more information contact either Cooper Stewart at 469-450-7878 or Phyllis Stewart at 972-948-1189.

Ennis Golden Circle meets Monday through Friday of each week, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1700 N. Floyd St., in Ennis. EGC opens gift shop downtown

The Ennis Garden Club is working to have a year-round gift shop inside the new Ennis Welcome Center located on the corner of NW Main Street and Knox St. There are many new t-shirts and souvenirs that reflect the pride of our hometown, and just in time for a fabulous fes-tival season. Downtown Development Director, Becky McCarty along with Events Coordinator, A’Lara Smith, (both Garden Club members) are working very hard to bring an exciting Bluebonnet Trails Festival.

Join Others in Lifting Up Ennis

Lift Up Ennis, a city-wide prayer event, will be held Saturday, March 7 at 5 p.m. by the “Believe” sign in the parking lot of the corner of Preston and Ennis Ave. Please meet others to pray for the people of Ennis. Lifting up Ennis is our purpose and hope is the agenda.

SOKOL 10K is Just Around the Corner

The Sokol Activity Center will be having their annual fund raiser on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Tickets are $150 and will get you admission for two, a steak dinner for two with baked potato with all the fixings, salad, and desert; open bar; and the opportunity to win one of 20 cash prizes. First prize is $10,000, second prize is $2,500, third prize is $1,000, prizes 4 to 7 are for $250 and 6 to 20 are for $150.

Vocalist Brad Ackland, country band Lost Money, and Polka Band David Slovak & Friends are this year’s entertainment.
