Join Others in Lifting Up Ennis

Lift Up Ennis, a city-wide prayer event, will be held Saturday, March 7 at 5 p.m. by the “Believe” sign in the parking lot of the corner of Preston and Ennis Ave. Please meet others to pray for the people of Ennis. Lifting up Ennis is our purpose and hope is the agenda.

Fish Fry at the SOKOL Activity Center

Sokol KHB will once again be having Catfish Fish Fries this year. Dinner will include catfish, coleslaw, beans, hush puppies and French fries for only $10. Child plates are $7 and grilled cheese sandwiches are $5. Carryouts will be available. Dinners will be service in the dining room 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The club room will open at 5 p.m. and entertainment starting at 7 p.m. Dates and entertainers this year are:

Ennis Public Library Hosts Monthly Book Reader Groups

The Brown Bag group meets at 12:30 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month. The Book Worms meet at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month. Both groups consist of adult readers who read a book of their own choosing then review the book for the group. No pressure and lots of fun!

Avalon ISD Kindergarten Round-Up

Avalon ISD will hold its pre-kindergarten and kindergarten round-up for children ages 3-5 years old on Feb. 28, 2020, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Ennis Golden Circle meets Monday through Friday of each week, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1700 N. Floyd St., in Ennis. Indian Trail Texas Master Naturalist Program

Indian Trail Chapter of Texas Master Naturalist will host a presentation on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at 7 p.m., in the Family Life Center Gathering Room at First United Methodist Church, 505 W. Marvin Ave., Waxahachie. The program will be presented by Jay Whiteside, TPWD Technical Guidance Biologist, about Western Navarro County Bobwhite Restoration Initiative.
