When in times of trouble or doubt, my heart goes directly to what I know to be true. Rather than automatically believing what a critic says, especially when they are related, thinking objectively is a wholesome solution.
One, I pull from my heart the words from my mother’s description of me. She can be both a pointed observer who will shoot me straight, and yet she is able to see beyond my faults and shortcomings and believe for the best in me. Mothers are capable of being wonderful judges, but they are not above being heavily biased.
