February is when it is most natural to think of the classic shape of a heart. And for more reasons than Valentine’s Day, says Ennis Cardiologist, Meg Sullivan, M.D.
Appearing at the exact midpoint of the month, stores are filled with heart-shaped cards, candy and more to celebrate the annual holiday of love. Added to that, another reason to think about the human heart is that February has been designated American Heart Month.
According to Dr. Sullivan, it is the perfect time to refocus on staying heart-healthy and giving this important organ the attention it deserves.
