Ovilla Christian School turns it on when the stage lights are brightest. Last week the Red Oak school won their third straight state title in volleyball, and a former Ennis standout, Marlee Hopkins, was a main reason why.
The Eagles took all three games in a best-of-five championship played at New Braunfels, 25-22, 25-11, 25-14, over Bracken Christian to win the TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) Class 2A state final. OCS was led by seven senior players, including Hopkins, who was a setter and front-line attacker at Ennis.
