A few months ago the heretofore beloved ninth planet, Pluto, who has been declared a non-planet by the International Astronomical Union, has been reinstated among the Solar System Planet Club by others.
Jed Clampett would probably have replied, “Well doggies!” It’s about time.
This writer voiced his disapproval of Pluto being reclassified in 2006 as a dwarf planet in a column here a few years ago. I wasn’t alone either. Large numbers of people and groups expressed their disdain and sought to have the move undone, you know, like surgery reversal.
