Fitbits and other physical, wearable tracking devices may help farmers more effectively monitor their herds health and eating, sleeping and milk production habits. More than half of Americans now track their daily activities with some kind of wearable device in an effort to stay healthy.

Researchers at Tarleton State University’s Southwest Regional Dairy Center in Stephenville, a part of the Texas A & M University System, say that digitally tracking diary cows’ eating, sleeping and other movements helps them take better care of the herd they milk three times a day.

Celebrating the Heritage of Scouting

Boy Scouts of America Troop 210 committee and adult leaders will host a reunion of former scouts and scout leaders on Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Downtown Emporium Building, 101 S. Dallas St., Ennis. All are invited to attend, regardless of what troop you were involved with, for an evening of drinks and appetizers while reminiscing and sharing of scouting experience.
