A young cast of all-terrain Ennis runners opened the 2019 cross country season in Hillsboro, with the varsity boys taking sixth and the junior varsity coming in seventh, both against a field of a dozen teams. Both the varsity girls and JV girls totaled enough points to finish ninth of 12 teams, each with a heavy dose of underclass harriers. The annual event, the Hillsboro Eagle Invitational, was held at Wallace Park amid sunny and high humidity. Stoney Duke, the senior bell cow, was the top finisher for Ennis when his 19:18 time in the 5K was the 13th best in the field.
