This weekend brings the mixed bag that is Daylight Savings Time. March 8 is the day in which people in this state lose an hour. Instead of 24 hours we’re supposed to operate on 23 and not say a thing about being short-changed because we’re given additional sunlight.

How dangerous is the COVID-19 virus? The world is in danger. Well, maybe not the whole world, but large segments of its population are in dire straits.

Can you name the first four faces to be carved on Mount Rushmore, from left to right? Since a national and state holiday was held on Monday, Feb. 17, in recognition of Presidents Day, more specifically the first, George Washington, perhaps we can reflect on the iconic sculpture, which is now 79 years old.

Early voting begins on Tuesday and will run through February 28. This is our chance to vote if we are able or do not wish to stand in line as long on March 3.

It is a great thing that Texas does to allow all of us that wish to vote but can’t find the time on the one specific day - to conveniently schedule time on a day of our choosing to go to the voting place and cast our ballot. It is the one thing that enables more voters to make their voice heard, this time in choosing the candidates for offices for the November 3 national election.

The news cycle currently focuses on impeachment when other crises exist.

We know that Donald J. Trump has been impeached. For two weeks now, no other business can be done in the Senate while the trial drags on. For the 17 people still watching, you are no doubt entertained. Everyone else has long-since formed an opinion one way or the other and have moved on. It’s a big fuss over a trifle. But are you aware there are other things going on in the world?
